Police are investigating extraordinary footage of a dirt biker flying over a busy motorway.
Kyle Katsandris posted footage on his Instagram account showing a biker accelerating up a dirt track before jumping over the road in southern California.
In the footage, which has been watched over 100,000 times on Instagram, a group can be seen shovelling dirt in the dark to dig out a clean track up to the road edge.
A cutaway shot to the busy motorway in Riverside Country - 60 miles east of central Los Angeles - shows cars and trucks whizz past below the jump.
Next the biker, who is wearing a helmet and protective gear, can be seen hurtling up the hill before launching himself into the air.
An aerial shot shows him successfully land on the other side of the multi-lane road.
Mr Katasandris posted the video with the caption: “The key board warriors were out in full force. Where are you now #katsandrisleap #nolimits”.
His video prompted a flurry of comments with some social media users expressing their awe and wonder while others showed more concern.
One user posted: “Mad props man”
While another user wrote: “As cool as this was, it was reckless. It could have caused enough of a distraction to motorists to cause an accident.”
News site CBS Los Angeles said local police and the Californian Highway Patrol are investigating the stunt.
