Dustin Diamond: Saved by the Bell's 'Screech' begins four-month prison sentence for Christmas Day bar brawl

Former Saved by the Bell star Dustin Diamond is behind bars to start his four-month sentence.

The 38-year-old actor, known to TV audiences as Screech, entered the Ozaukee County Jail in Wisconsin on Friday.

In June last year he was convicted of carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct after a fight in a bar in Port Washington, Wisconsin, on Christmas Day in 2014.

He was due to start his sentence last summer but it was delayed by a judge after Diamond appealed

However, last month he withdrew the appeal.

Diamond claimed he pulled out a pocketknife to protect his girlfriend Amanda Schutz from a group of men and accidentally stabbed a man during the altercation.
