Factories closed by island protests

Japanese manufacturers Panasonic and Canon have suspended work at factories in China after anti-Japan protests over a disputed island chain.

Panasonic has closed its plant in Qingdao until tomorrow after two factories were attacked, while Canon has shut three factories.

The protests began after Japan agreed to buy the East China Sea islands from their Japanese owner.
