France's most wanted woman has fled to Syria after going on the run in the wake of the Paris terror attacks, Turkish officials claimed today.

Hayat Boumeddiene crossed the border into the war torn country from Turkey on Thursday, officials said.

The 26-year-old, who is the partner of Jewish supermarket hostage-taker Amedy Coulibaly, is said to have fled to Turkey in on January 2, before the devastating attacks which killed 17 innocent people.

The country's Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu told the state-run Anadolu Agency that she arrived in Istanbul from Madrid.

The revelation came as France announced it would mobilise 10,000 troops as ministers warned that "the threat is still present" after last week's attacks.

France's Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said the deployment will begin on Tuesday and will focus on the most sensitive locations.

It came as video emerged showing Coulibaly explaining how the attacks would unfold and pledging allegiance to the Islamic State. Police are now hunting the person who shot and posted the video, which was edited after the attacks were over.

Survivors say the Kouachi brothers, who carried out the Charlie Hebdo massacre, claimed they were from al-Qaida in Yemen.
