A Spanish advertising firm has sparked a sexism row after rejecting a woman for a job because it said it "needed a man who could handle the pace".
Carla Forcada, a 25-year-old marketing and communications graduate from Barcelona, had applied for an account executive role at PR agency Impulsa Communicación.
But its response led one of its major clients, Coca-Cola, to drop the firm.
The rejection letter read (in Spanish): "Thank you for you CV... right now, we are in the process of selection but we are looking for a man because the accounts he will work on are Carglass and Coca-Cola...
"And believe me, they need a man who can handle the pace, the visits, who knows about production etc."
Taking to Twitter, Ms Forcada said it was "incredible that there are still companies that do not support gender equality in the workplace".
Shortly after, Coca-Cola said it would not work with Impulsa Communicación and that the company "rejects this type of discriminatory response".
"We have an inclusive, diverse and egalitarian contracting policy...We regret to see our name related to this discriminatory and unfortunate response."
In the same afternoon, the official account of window repair company Carglass, tweeted Ms Forcada, writing: "We apologise personally to you and everyone offended by this message.
"We have expressed our position to Impulsa Communicación. Our company promotes gender equality and these actions do not represent us."
Impulsa Communicación appeared to have shut down its website, although its director, Pere Teres, told Spanish newspaper ABC that the situation was a "misunderstanding" and the company "did not accept discrimination".
