This is the touching moment an Invictus Games athlete hugs his teammate after he became panicked when a helicopter flew over.

Paul Guest was playing in the wheelchair doubles tournament, when a helicopter flew over as he was trying to serve, making him emotional.

His teammate Edwin Vermetten rushed over to comfort and give Mr Guest some words of encouragement.

Mr Vermetten can be seen putting his arms around Mr Guest and speaking to him.

Minutes later the pair regrouped, winning 7-5 5-7 (11-9). They took the silver medal at the Games on Tuesday.

Mr Vermetten told the Invictus Games website that the pair sang the theme song to Disney film Frozen to help calm Mr Guest down.

He told Mr Guest: “Look into my eyes and sing the ‘Frozen’ song, and we did.”

Mr Vermetten added: “For him, this was the moment he let go, and he did, he literally let it all go.”

This is Mr Guest’s second Invictus Games having competed in Toronto in 2017.

The 54-year-old toured Northern Ireland and the Gulf as a mine warfare specialist, according to the Clacton Gazette.

He has suffered from PTSD since being wounded on duty in 1987.

Mr Guest says the Invictus Games has been a “lifeline”.

He said: “It’s given me confidence, focal points to forget my past and all my terrors, I suffer from PTSD as well as my physical disabilities and so I have panic attacks and flashbacks.

“But the sport and the camaraderie of the whole team gives me a focal point.”
