Hurricane Harvey: Man filmed playing piano in flooded Houston home

Chloe Chaplain2 September 2017

A man was captured on camera sitting down, knee deep in water, to play a beautiful song on his piano after returning to his home in Houston.

Aric Harding had evacuated his house after floodwater from Storm Harvey started to seep in through the floorboards.

On Tuesday he returned to the site to retrieve some beloved stuffed animals for his seven children, to offer them some comfort.

He had a friend record the video for his 13-year-old son, an avid piano player.

Touching: He filmed the moment for his son

He posted the video on Instagram, where it has struck a chord with people from across the globe.

He told the Associated Press that many people have told him it has helped them take a timeout from the chaos of the flooding.

Since taking the video, people from the church where he works as a pastor and locals helped rip out the flood-soak innards of his home.

At least 39 people died in flooding caused by Harvey. Thousands have been displaced from their homes.
