A photo which purports to show the iPhone 7 Plus and its new camera has appeared online.

The snap, claiming to be a picture of Apple's long-awaited product, surfaced on an obscure Chinese website called the Bastille Post.

According to website MacRumours, the product appears to include a dual-lens camera and a larger screen.

The new camera system is expected to allow people to take photos with both lenses and combine the images to produce higher resolution results.

One lens could potentially have optical zoom while the other would allow wide-angle photos.

If the photo is to be believed, the phone is also set to include a microphone and LED flash with antenna bands along the top and bottom edges.

There is also speculation the machine includes a Smart Connector interface, of the type found on an iPad Pro, allowing different accessories to be hooked up.
