Dictator Kim Jong-un has attended a pop concert to rapturous applause as North Korea celebrated the launch of its first intercontinental ballistic missile.
Crowds cheered the dictator as he entered the arena for the pop concert in Pyongyang on Monday, which was aired on North Korean television.
He was also handed flowers and greeted with a standing ovation from soldiers and military officials.
It comes after North Korea announced it had launched an ICBM which officials believe is capable of reaching Alaska.
The celebratory concert led was the Moranbong Band, an all-female ensemble hand-picked by the dictator and serves partly as the "soft" face of his regime.
Pyongyang has hosted several special events to mark the July 4 launch of the Hwasong-14 missile.
The concert, played before a packed crowd, many in uniform, also featured dancing displays.
The missile launch was the first time the country has claimed to have successfully launched an ICBM with the potential to reach the United States.
According to Reuters, the missile was launched for 39 minutes, reached an altitude of 1,731 miles and flew 579 miles.
US President Donald Trump reacted angrily to the test launch and called for China to intervene and “end this nonsense”.
The United States responded by firing the precision missiles into South Korean territorial waters in a joint military exercise.
