Disgraced comedian Louis CK has been criticised for his new material where he appears to rant about school shooting survivors and the use of gender-specific pronouns.

A leaked audio copy of the comic’s latest set at the Comedy Cellar in New York has attracted controversy. In it, the 51-year-old comic takes swipes at young people and terms used to describe people with mental disabilities.

Parts of CK’s act were posted on Twitter. Among a slew of jokes which were labelled 'offensive,' he is heard saying young people “are just boring”.

He said: “[They’re] telling you ‘you shouldn’t say that’, ‘that’s not appropriate.

“F*** you, you're a child. They're like royalty, they tell you what to call them. 'You should address me as they/them because I identify as gender neutral.' OK.”

He then made reference to young survivors of school shootings, adding: “I don't know. They testified in front of Congress, these kids.

“Like, what the f***? What are you doing? You're young. You should be going crazy.

“You should be unhinged, not in a suit saying: 'I'm here to tell...' f*** you. You're not interesting 'cause you went to a high school where kids got shot.

“Why does that mean I have to listen to you? How does that make you interesting? You didn't get shot. You pushed some fat kid in the way and now I got to listen to you talk?”

The audio clip received criticism from many on social media, with some arguing he was a “right-wing comic now”.

Lindsay Ellis tweeted: “Wow, Louis CK’s new act is really reprehensible.”

David Wilson Brown wrote: “Louis CV even trying for a comeback is c***, but him joking about Parkland students…well, I didn’t know why he was back, but he should never be back again.”

Comedian Stephanie Allynne wrote: “Louis CK is insisting that he not only be remembered as a terrible person, but also as a terrible comedian. #TimesUp”
