American rock singer Meat Loaf collapsed on stage part way through a concert in Canada.

The 68-year-old was performing in Edmonton, Alberta, on Thursday evening when he was captured on video falling to the floor.

In a video posted on Twitter, the Bat Out of Hell singer can be seen leaning to one side before he lets his microphone stand fall to the floor and shortly afterwards puts his hands out to break his fall.

His bandmates rushed to his aid and fans were asked to leave the Jubilee Auditorium when medical staff arrived shortly after 9.30pm local time.

The singer’s condition is currently unknown.
