An American tourist killed in a lightning strike yesterday while camping with his girlfriend close to the Australian site of the I’m A Celebrity jungle camp was just eight weeks into the trip of a lifetime.
Sam Beattie, 24, from New York, was camping at the top of Mount Warning, in New South Wales, with Michele Segalla, 23.
Only a few hours before, the cast and crew of the hit ITV show had broken up and left the jungle site.
Mr Beattie was killed instantly when the lightning hit his feet.
