Spain has reported 14 new Covid-19 outbreaks in the country's popular southern coast, Andalucia.

Figures released on Thursday show there are now 86 active outbreaks across the region, with 893 new confirmed cases.

In the past 24hours, outbreaks have been detected in four of the countries holiday destination spots - eight in Malaga, three in Sevilla, two in Cadiz and one in Granada.

In Huelva, south-western Spain, the number of cases has increased by 316, the highest daily climb since April.

The city also recorded one death linked to the virus.

According to the regional health ministry, 25 more people have been hospitalised.

The resurgence of outbreaks and infections in Spain has prompted some regions to impose fresh restrictions on movement, making masks obligatory at all times outside the home and closing nightclubs again.

The restrictions come at a time where the UK Government strongly advises its citizens against all but essential travel to Spain, including Balearic and Canary Islands where infection rates are lower than on the mainland.

People coming back from the country are expected to quarantine for two weeks.
