At least five people were injured when a tourist boat burst into flames along the coast of north-west Spain.

Two people suffered serious burns and were airlifted to hospital after the incident on Tuesday, authorities said. At least three others were also treated.

Shocking pictures showed the boat completely ablaze with orange flames, sending a thick plume of black smoke over the sea.

The catamaran was carrying 48 passengers and four crew members when it collided with another vessel off the island of Toxa, Spanish media reported.
