UK Eurovision contestant SuRie has broken her silence after a stage invader crashed her performance during the live final.

The man, reported to be political activist Dr ACactivism, ran onto the stage during SuRie’s song Storm and snatched the microphone from her hands.

He appeared to shout something about Nazis “in the UK media" before being wrestled offstage by security.

SuRie was forced to clap along to the music, looking shocked, before she was handed back the mic and able to continue with her performance.

She took to Twitter hours after performing her 24th placed song Storm writing: “Well, I've always said anything can happen at Eurovision ...”

Fans praised the singer’s tenacity as she carried on with her number seemingly unfazed.

Chloe Hatherley wrote on Twitter: “You made us all proud tonight, you were such a professional- please represent us next year too!”

Thomas Murford added: “You handled the situation amazingly. You stayed so calm and still continued to give an EPIC performance. You made Britain proud.”

You dealt with it amazingly. Such a British way... 'I'll just clap and carry on till he's gone'. Loved it! Be proud.”

Australian TV presenter Joel Creasey won the hearts' of Britons , including Harry Potter author JK Rowling, after branding the invader “an absolute c***head” live on air.
