A video has emerged of a number of Ukrainians forcing a Russian tank to stop in its tracks.

The footage, believed to be from Koryukiva near to the border of Russia, shows defiant citizens walking towards a tank.

In a calm show of force, they walk towards the front to confront the Russian troops.

As the camera pans round, hordes of fellow Ukrainians can be soon moving towards the vehicle in order to stop it progressing any further.

The footage is just the latest to show of Ukraine’s staunch defence of the country, and the difficulty Russian troops have had in progressing forward.

On Saturday, footage emerged of a Ukrainian man attempting to climb onto a Russian tank as it crossed a junction in the northeastern town of Bakhmach.

In the video shared on social media, the woman says: “What the f*** are you doing in our land?

“You should put sunflower seeds in your pockets so that they will grow on Ukrainian land after you die.”

Ukrainians have been inspired by their heroic leader, Volodymyr Zelensky, who has vowed to defend the country no matter what cost.

Mr Zelensky chose to remain in Kyiv as fighting raged and has since become an icon for the Ukrainian people.

His multiple videos on social media have also encouraged large numbers of Ukrainians to join the country’s defence force.

Men aged between 18-60 have also been banned from leaving the state, while Mr Zelensky has called on the international community to join the fight against Russia.

Speaking on Sunday, Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, said she would support British citizen who wanted to leave the UK to fight.

She told the BBC: “The people of Ukraine are fighting for freedom and democracy, not just for Ukraine but also for the whole of Europe because that is what President Vladimir Putin is challenging.

“And absolutely, if people want to support that struggle, I would support them in doing that,”

Asked to clarify if that meant taking up arms she said, “Absolutely if that’s what they want to do.”
