This was the adorable moment a deer and a rabbit, since dubbed the real-life 'Bambi and Thumper', played together in the Rocky Mountains.

The animals were seen frolicking outside the Lula W. Dorsey museum by two volunteers in a US camping resort this week.

Sharing the video on YouTube, a spokesman for the YMCA of the Rockies' Estes Park Center said: "Our friends Steve and Vicky Johnsen, volunteers at YMCA of the Rockies' Estes Park Center, captured this adorable video of a baby deer and bunny rabbit playing together in front of the Lula W. Dorsey Museum. What do you think?! How cute!"

The scene evoked memories of watching the 1942 Disney classic Bambi for some YouTube viewers.

Devon Merriman said: "Bambi and thumper awww".

Others speculated that the rabbit was in fact scared of the fawn, while some suggested they were just getting to know each other.

Another YouTube user wrote: "Would've been long gone if it was scared :). I think they were both a little curious; cute little buggars."
