The White House has responded to Donald Trump health fears after the US President appeared to slur his words during a speech.

Concerns were raised about President Trump’s wellbeing following a news conference he delivered on Wednesday.

Towards the end of the speech, which was about the US decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, some people remarked that the president, 71, appeared to get a dry mouth and slur his pronunciation on the word “states”.

It was the second time in a month that Mr Trump seemed to get a dry mouth in public after reaching for a water bottle during a speech in November.

But White House press secretary Sarah Sanders dismissed speculation about any health concerns.

She told reporters: “The president's throat was dry - nothing more than that."

Sanders also said Mr Trump will undergo the customary presidential physical in early 2018 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, adding, "Those records will be released by the doctor following that taking place."
