Freddie Starr found dead at Spanish home

Comedian Freddie Starr has died at the age of 76.

The entertainer, who appeared on I'm a Celebrity in 2011, was found dead at his home in Costa Del Sol, Spain, The Sun reported.

His cause of death was not immediately clear but he was reportedly found by a carer at his flat.

The Mersyside-born comic, impressionist, singer and actor had a history of heart problems and asthma.

'Masked' gunman chased out of London mosque

A “masked” gunman was chased out of an east London mosque by worshippers before firing his weapon in the street.

Worshippers were part-way through Ramadan prayers in Seven Kings Mosque when a gunshot rang out and sparked panic late last night.

Police believe a "blank firing handgun" had been discharged.

No injuries or damage to the building were reported and detectives are not treating the incident as terrorism-related.

There have been no arrests.

Chelsea Manning released

Chelsea Manning has been released from jail despite refusing to testify before an investigation into WikiLeaks.

The ex-US intelligence analyst was held for 62 days after she refused answer questions before a federal jury.

She has now been released by will need to appear again before a grand jury on May 16.

Her lawyers say she will again refuse to answer questions and could again face another prison term.

Ms Manning served seven years in a military prison for leaking a trove of documents to WikiLeaks.

Jeff Bezos unveils moon rocket

Amazon boss Jeff Bezos has announced plans to land his newly-unveiled Blue Moon spaceship on the lunar surface.

The tycoon said his space company Blue Origin will land the robotic ship on the moon – but did not say when.

The spacecraft will be capable of carrying four rovers and use a newly designed rocket engine, Mr Bezos said.

Rudd: PM could make a comeback

Amber Rudd has said Theresa May could “make a comeback” and told Tory rebels not to move against her until a Brexit deal is made.

The Work and Pensions Secretary described the current phase of negotiations as a “delicate time”.

Speaking on Question Time last night, she said that launching a bid oust the Prime Minister would only deepen the crisis.
