US Attorney General held in contempt of Congress

The US Attorney General has been held in contempt of Congress after refusing to release an unredacted version of the Mueller report.

The House Judiciary Committee voted 24-16 against William Barr after some five hours of heated and emotional testimony.

The move comes amid a showdown over the Mueller probe and escalates the Democrats’ legal battle with the Trump administration over its findings.

Donald Trump hit back by asserting executive privilege over Special Counsel’s report by blocking it from public view.

PM refuses to set out terms of departure

Theresa May has made clear that she will not offer a timetable for her departure from Number 10.

1922 Committee chairman Graham Brady said the Prime Minister gave no clarity about her future during their private meeting.

The talks came amid growing pressure from rebel Tory MPs to make way for a new leader to take control of the Brexit process.

‘UK version of Tutankhamun’s tomb’ discovered

A royal burial site discovered between a pub and an Aldi supermarket in Essex has been hailed as the UK's equivalent of Tutankhamun's tomb.

Ed Sheeran has climbed the charts of the UK’s richest musicians after his wealth doubled to £160m in the last year.

Adele sits at number 22 with £150 million to her name and remains the wealthiest female recording artist.

The top spot was claimed by composer Lord Lloyd-Webber with a fortune of £820 million. He overtook Beatles star Sir Paul McCartney.

Moura's magic hat-trick rescues Spurs

Lucas Moura completed a second-half hat-trick in the final seconds of stoppage time to send Tottenham to a first ever Champions League final.

Matthijs de Ligt and Hakim Ziyech each scored in the first half in what appeared to send a classy Ajax side to the Madrid showpiece.

But Lucas' double in two second-half minutes in Amsterdam was followed by the fatal blow one second after the five minutes of added time had elapsed.

The win for Spurs set up an all-English final with Liverpool, who thumped Barcelona 4-0 at Anfield on Tuesday night.
