YouTuber Jeffree Star has revealed $2.5 million (£1.9 million) worth of make-up has been stolen from a warehouse by “black market sellers”.

The 33-year-old revealed the theft to 14 million YouTube followers on Tuesday, while explaining why the make-up artist had been quiet on social media.

The star said the make-products, including a new shade from a new concealer line, were stolen two weeks ago.

In a candid video Star said the last few weeks had been a “nightmare I have been living with for a few weeks now”.

The business owner said: “One of my stock and shipping facility warehouses was broken into and over $2.5 million of product was stolen from me.

“This is the biggest theft I have ever experienced in my entire career. This is the biggest hit as a brand. I am still shocked about the entire thing”.

Star explained lip liners, highlighter palettes and an entire shade from the new Magic Star concealer line was stolen.

The burglary, Star claimed, happened on the same day as the YouTuber released a new collection to the public.

“These people were professional,” Star added, “I fully believe it was an inside job, I think that it was someone who temporarily worked there who tipped them off”.

It is thought the suspects broke in through the ceiling of the warehouse to take the products.

The make-up guru has since hired an entire team of investigators to attempt to track down those responsible.
