Seven teenagers face riot charges

Seven people have been charged with offences related to rioting which sparked widespread looting and violence across England last summer.

The seven - all teenagers - were arrested in a series of dawn raids in London by Metropolitan Police.

Leanne Mills, 19, of Lansdowne Road, Tottenham, is charged with burglary.

Eighteen-year-old Shaun O'Neil, of Griffin Road, Tottenham, is charged with robbery and violent disorder.

Dean Suragh, 19, of Kitchener Road, Tottenham, is charged with burglary.

A 17-year-old, from Palmers Green, is charged with violent disorder. Another 17-year-old from Stoke Newington is charged with burglary and violent disorder, while a third 17-year-old, from Chingford, is charged with two counts of burglary and one of violent disorder.

A 15-year-old student from Hornsey has also been charged with burglary and violent disorder.

The offences allegedly took place in Tottenham High Road from August 6 to 7 last year.

All seven will now appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court. Ms Mills was bailed to appear on June 13, while the other six will appear today.
