Police are investigating after a toddler was found dead at a house.
The death of the two-year-old boy was reported when officers were called to his home in Lambourne Road, Walton, Liverpool.
Police are treating the death as unexplained and are awaiting the outcome of a post-mortem examination.
A police spokesman said: "Merseyside Police is investigating following the unexplained death of a child in Walton.
"Emergency services were called at about 6am to a property on Lambourne Road to a report that a two-year-old boy had died.
"Officers attended and found the body of the boy, who was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
"At this time the death is being treated as unexplained."
