Benitez is up for the cup

Chelsea have been drawn against Swansea in the Capital One Cup semi-finals

Interim manager Rafael Benitez is targeting his first trophy at Chelsea following the draw for the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup.

Benitez saw his side beaten 1-0 by Corinthians in Sunday's final of the Club World Cup in Japan but the Blues showed few signs of jet lag as they came from behind to beat Leeds 5-1 in the Capital One Cup quarter-finals at Elland Road and now take on Swansea in the last four.

"It's a team that likes to play football, likes to play on the floor and also try to keep the ball so I think it will be interesting," Benitez told Sky Sports 1. "Every competition is important for us; a top side has to try to win every competition and now we are in the semi-finals so we are close to winning."

Chelsea, managed by Roberto Di Matteo at the time, drew 1-1 with Swansea in their Barclays Premier League game at the Liberty Stadium in November, with Pablo Hernandez grabbing a late equaliser for Michael Laudrup's side.

The other semi-final sees League Two side Bradford, who knocked out Arsenal in the quarter-finals, take on Aston Villa.

The first legs take place in the week commencing January 7, with the returns two weeks later.
