Kompany: I'm staying at City

Defender Vincent Kompany has vowed to stay at Manchester City, saying: "I have no reason to go."

Following last season's title win, this campaign has been something of a disappointment with below-par showings in the Barclays Premier League and Champions League. That has been enough to spark speculation over the future of the City captain, with Barcelona mooted as a possible destination.

But the 27-year-old told The Sun: "I have no reason to go elsewhere. I am happy here, I have five years left and if you knew the plans for this team for the future... I consider that to be a real objective."
