Potter calls for more despite win

Mick Potter thinks Bradford must improve to maintain a play-off push
20 August 2012

Bradford Bulls coach Mick Potter demanded his players improve despite powering their way to a third straight Stobart Super League win.

Potter, working without wages in a volunteer role due to the club's on-going cash problems, saw his side win 34-12 against Huddersfield to keep alive their hopes of making the play-offs.

Potter then admitted: "I think there's more to come. I was happy with the result and some of the individual things we did but not the overall performance. There are areas where we can improve."

On Bradford's chances of making the play-offs he added: "I'm happy it's a bit more in our own hands, but we've two games left and they won't be easy."

Karl Pryce bagged two late tries for Bradford after Luke Gale gave them the platform with some inspired probing.

The Bulls led 18-6 at the break and were full value for their win as the Giants struggled to get going in greasy conditions.

Huddersfield coach Paul Anderson branded his team's display "disgraceful" after watching them slump to a bad defeat.

He said: "In patches it looked like we'd just been thrown together. But the main thing I'm peeved about is our attitude to the game.

"We've had in the last few week a couple of low-intensity performances and we carried that through against a very determined team. It was disgraceful. Our attitude to the game was very poor. I could count the number of sets we completed on my fingers and toes.

"I'm not even thinking about the play-offs at the moment. We've got two games left and we've got to do better. The key to everything is attitude."
