Worcestershire slumped to 59 for five in their LV= County Championship Division Two match against Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens.

The Pears looked to have recovered from the early loss of Matthew Pardoe as they moved onto 55 for one but four wickets in 24 balls put them in big trouble.

Michael Hogan claimed three for 12 from his eight overs while Michael Reed claimed the other two wickets.

Essex were faring equally badly against Northamptonshire as Steven Crook claimed three wickets.

The visitors had reached 44 for one but the dismissal of Rob Quiney for 25 sparked a collapse and Crook's double strike in the last over before lunch left Essex 79 for five.

In the remaining game of the day Kent were making steady progress against Leicestershire at Grace Road.

Rob Key scored 41 before being dismissed by Robbie Williams in a lunchtime total of 114 for two.
