Hamleys toy store this morning launched its new department dedicated to the wizarding world of Harry Potter.

The Regent Street store has opened a 3,000 square foot area of the lower ground floor dedicated to JK Rowling’s creation.

Toys range from “pocket-money purchases” like a golden snitch pin badge for £6 and a pack of Bertie Bott’s Beans for £5 to a £95 Hogwarts student robe.

In August, higher-end products from the Harry Potter Noble Collection will launch in store — with the items including a £280 replica of the Firebolt broomstick and a £299 chess set.

Victoria Kay, the store’s head of buying, said: “Harry Potter is a phenomenon that doesn’t look like its about to stop any time soon with new films and merchandise coming out every year. We feel like this is a great time to get involved in that phenomenon and bring a bit of Harry Potter magic to Hamleys.”
