Rock star Alice Cooper is joining Virgin Radio. Cooper will host an evening show every week night on Virgin Radio Classic Rock.

The digital station was launched at the end of last year and features music from the likes of Aerosmith, Jimi Hendrix and the Rolling Stones.

"Virgin Radio Classic Rock has a great vibe and I can't wait to get started," Cooper said.

"It's a real buzz to be one of the first ever DJs on this station - I'm looking forward to getting the joint rocking."

Cooper - real name Vincent Furnier - has been a star since the seventies with hits including School's Out and No More Mr Nice Guy.

He also starred with Ronnie Corbett in a TV ad for Sky Plus.
