Alison Hammond has spoken for the first time about her new boyfriend who is more than 20 years her junior and revealed he has had the seal of approval from her son.

The This Morning presenter, 48, has been dating 26-year-old masseur David Putman, with the couple recently going social media official.

Birmingham-born Hammond was grilled about her blossoming romance while a guest on the latest episode of Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe’s podcast Parenting Hell.

When asked about her relationship status, Hammond confirmed that she is “not single” and that she is “dating”.

The podcast hosts then went on to ask her about what it is like dating as a single parent now that her son, Aidan, 19, was an adult.

“I think it’s more difficult now because he is more verbal now that he is older. He’ll want to know who this person is and he’ll want to meet them,” she confessed.

“It’s a lot harder. He’ll wanna know that this guy is treating me well.”

The For The Love Of Dogs star then dished that not only has Aiden met her new fella, he has even given him his seal of approval.

“The person who I am seeing at the moment, he is on his Instagram and he is like ‘yeah I like him, he’s not too in your face’.

She added that Aiden, whose father is her ex Noureddine Boufaied, was “on it”.

“When they actually met, he really liked him, he really thought he was lovely, so that’s nice,” she continued.

“Thank goodness for that! Because normally Aiden hates anybody I date, literally just not interested.

“And you just know at that point, if Aiden doesn’t like them, this isn’t gonna work. There are moments where I think, ‘who’s the parent here?!’ It’s nice though because I always feel like there’s someone there looking over me, protecting me.”
