The winner of TV's The Apprentice Michelle Dewberry has rekindled her romance with fellow contestant Syed Ahmed days after the couple split under the strain of losing their baby.

Entrepreneur Mr Ahmed appeared to be firmly back by her side again as fresh doubts were cast over her future with Sir Alan Sugar's company.

There were reports that the former supermarket check-out girl was planning to part company with mentor Sir Alan to set up her own business four months after winning the hit BBC2 show.

The news came after it emerged that the 26-year-old had set up her own enterprise two weeks ago called Michelle Dewberry Limited based in Whitechapel, east London.

Last night there was speculation that Miss Dewberry had already negotiated a substantial payoff to leave Sir Alan's Xenon Green computer disposal firm in a series of secret meetings.

But the reports were hotly denied by both sides who maintain that she has not been fired and will continue in her high-profile £100,000-a-year role.

Last week Apprentice loser, Mr Ahmed claimed that his relationship with the attractive blonde was "on hold" after Miss Dewberry suffered a miscarriage less than a month ago.

The pair met last August while battling for the prized job with Sir Alan Sugar in the second series of the BBC2 reality TV show.

The 32-year-old, who is currently running two businesses after being booted off the hit show, had claimed that he wanted to marry Miss Dewberry when she fell pregnant earlier this year.

Last week the relationship appeared to be over when Mr Ahmed announced they were separating after losing their "chemistry" under the strain of the miscarriage and of constantly being in the spotlight.

He told Star magazine: "When you lose a baby, things change. You've got forces acting against you. I really don't know why.

"It's almost as though you've lost something more than a baby. You've lost a part of your chemistry, too.

"We've got to the point where staying together is causing more problems."

But yesterday they appeared to have put their troubles behind them as they enjoyed a day out in London, driving around in her luxury convertible Renault Megane.

Dressed in a stunning figure-hugging black dress, slim Miss Dewberry unveiled a shocking new brunette look.

Smiling and relaxed, the couple spent a couple of hours at her home in south west London before taking a drive in the sunshine.

They refused to discuss reports by the Sunday Mirror that Miss Dewberry is planning her departure from Xenon Green and had secured a "substantial" pay-off.

But sources claimed that Miss Dewberry had spent a substantial amount of time away from her desk recently due to illness.

One said: "She is going through a very tough time and hasn't been very well lately. She has had to have time off work because she has been ill."

But a spokesman for Miss Dewberry said: "Michelle is still working for the company at the moment. She has not been fired and she has not quit. As far as I know, she has no plans to leave the company."
