'Apprentice' reject Gavin Winstanley has blasted Zoe Beresford for her lack of effort in their latest task.

The project manager who became the third contestant to be fired by Lord Alan Sugar after his team Venture lost out to their rivals Logic thinks teammate Zoe should have left the competition as she failed to do any of the work.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I put myself forward in the first place as I had done for every task, you had Vincent who negotiated a few deals and he has closed a few deals and he has put himself forward I believe in the last task, and then you had Zoe who didn't put herself forward in the last tasks, hadn't negotiated any deals, didn't make any phone calls in the day.

"I don't even remember her talking at all in the hotel, it was literally.. I didn't assume that I was going to go, I accept that I could've worked better as a project manager but I think Zoe or anyone could have gone, anyone from our team could have been fired."

Managing Director Gavin - who now plans to focus on expanding his online optician business - also revealed he was disappointed that Karren Brady didn't report Zoe's lack of initiative to Lord Sugar.

He explained: "Basically she came out of the common saying 'Zoe I think you've got a voice but you still need to show it' so that was a sign that Zoe needed to speak up a bit more. She was kind of sticking up for Zoe a little bit.

"So yeah, Karen could've said 'you know, Zoe didn't do anything', but obviously she decided not to give Lord Alan Sugar that feedback."
