With a name like Romulus Rost, a career as rock star or sports car designer is pretty much a given.

Renowned designer Rost, responsible for the Audi TT, has managed to combine both pursuits, citing the music of Jimi Hendrix as a major inspiration behind the car's design. Interesting, as the TT has always struck me as a more curvaceous Dolly Parton-ish creation, rather than a horned beast zooming you through the crosstown traffic.

This creative process is celebrated with a display of iconic images of the fretwork maestro from photographers including Gered Mankowitz shown alongside rare sketches and designs for the car.

The Audi Hendrix Experience, from Fri 31 May, Audi Forum, 74-75 Piccadilly, Green Park, W1 (020-7428 4949)
