Adele has scrapped using pyrotechnics on her tour after her four-year-old son was hit in the eye by flying debris.

The singer, 28, said Angelo, who she has with Simon Konecki, was left “very upset” by the accident which happened at Perth’s Domain Stadium during rehearsals.

Speaking to fans on stage in Perth she said: “We’ve been rehearsing here and up until last night we had fireworks for you.

“And obviously everyone likes a fireworks display. However, my son was watching in the crowd… there wasn’t much of a crowd, there was like five people.

“A bit of debris – it wasn’t big – but a bit of s*** went in his eye and he was very upset, so I got rid of the fireworks.”

The Rolling in the Deep singer kicked off the Australia leg of her tour earlier this week and surprised fans by inviting her drag doppelganger on stage.

Adele called up DJ Feminem for a song and a selfie in front of thousands of fans.

“Why didn’t you tell me I had such a sweaty face?,” she said before joking: “You look better than me, that’s not allowed.”

Feminem – who refers to herself as Perth's Favorite Drag Queen – also belted out the lyrics to Rumour Has It.

Speaking to local Radio 6PR about the “crazy” experience she said: “I kind of caught her eye in the first 15 minutes of the show and she gave me a bit of a wink and a wave and I was just having fun.”
