Amanda Holden was reduced to tears as she presented her final This Morning with Phillip Schofield.

Holden, 44 – who was filling in for Holly Willoughby while she was on maternity leave with her third child – cried into a tissue as she watched a clip of her best bits.

Dressed in a yellow top and patterned skirt she was also presented with a giant cake and Champagne as she filmed her final episode on London’s Southbank.

Schofield then surprised her with a performance from her golden buzzer act from Britain’s Got Talent, Revelation Avenue, who parted the crowd as they serenaded Holden with Katy Perry’s Roar.

Unable to fight back the tears she said: “I’m swallowing a lot and looking away from Phillip so I don’t cry.”

When asked by Schofield if she had enjoyed her time on the show, she replied: “I have to say it’s been one of the happiest years of my life and I know that sounds dramatic but I’ve had the best time ever, I really have, thank you.”

She was joined by Rylan Clark, make-up artist Bryony Blake and Stephen Mulhern – who she soaked live on air with a glass of water earlier on in the show.

Schofield praised his co-host, calling her “absolutely stunning and amazing”.

Willoughby also praised Holden’s hard work via a video message.

“Hi Phil, hi Amanda, and hi to you watching at home,” she said. “I just want to say that I’m very, very looking forward to being back in September - I can’t believe it’s been a year already.

“Amanda, thank you so much for all your hard work, you’ve been absolutely brilliant, but now it is time to give me back my silver fox!”

She finished: “Phil, have a lovely holiday - you need to be well rested before I’m back in September! Lots of love and I’ll see you then.”

Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford will take over hosting duties on July 20 before Schofield and Willoughby return in September.
