The first moving trailer for the Amy Winehouse documentary has been released.
AMY, directed by Asif Kapadia and the award winning team behind Formula One film Senna, will chronicle the singer’s early life, her career path and the personal struggles she faced before her death, aged 27.
The new trailer features footage of a young Winehouse who can be seen talking about her life and why she doesn’t think she will be famous.
“I don’t I don’t think I’m gonna be at all famous. I don’t think I could handle it. I would probably go mad do you know what I mean, I’d go mad,” she said.
Universal boss David Joseph said of the film earlier this year: “About two years ago we decided to make a movie about her — her career and her life.
"It's a very complicated and tender movie. It tackles lots of things about family and media, fame, addiction, but most importantly, it captures the very heart of what she was about, which is an amazing person and a true musical genius."
Winehouse - who won five Grammy Awards for her second album Back to Black - died from alcohol poisoning in July 2011.
AMY is set for release in the UK on July 3 2015.
