BAFTAs 2015: Brits Keira Knightley and Felicity Jones dazzle alongside Hollywood hopefuls Reese Witherspoon and Julianne Moore

BAFTA nominees Keira Knightley and Felicity Jones looked spectacular as they graced the red carpet for the BAFTAs on Sunday night.

Knightley, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress fashioned her growing baby bump with a monochrome off the shoulder dress, while Best Actress nominee Jones worked a floor length gown with floral detailing.

Julianne Moore looked more than red caret ready in a red dress while Wild actress Reese Witherspoon looked spectacular in a plunging purple gown.

The Theory of Everything actor Eddie Redmayne arrived to a chanting crowd as he made his way onto the red carpet.

Redmayne, 33 – who looked dashing in a two piece suit with a bow tie – took time to sign autographs for fans waiting outside The Royal Opera House.

The actor, who is nominated for the Leading Actor BAFTA, spoke to Zoe Ball about his experience in the Stephen Hawking biopic.

"It’s been such a dream really. It was terrifying. It was this weird mixture of fear and trepidation and wanting to do the Hawking family proud,” he said.

Also talking to Ball – who was working an androgynous look in a black suit and tie – was Gone Girl actress Rosamund Pike.

Pike, who is up for the Leading Actress BAFTA, said the thought of winning and having to collect the award was making her “nervous”.

Among the British brigade were Hollywood hopefuls Edward Norton, Mark Ruffalo and Amy Adams who dazzled in a white figure hugging gown.

Jack O'Connell was also in attendance and was working a black Prada suit. The 24-year-old actor is up against Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Margot Robbie, Miles Teller and Shailene Woodley for the EE Rising Star Award, was working a black Prada suit.

Also on the red carpet was Felicity Jones, Sam Claflin, Michael Keaton, David Beckham and Tom Hiddleston who is presenting the BAFTA for Outstanding Debut By A British Writer, Director or Producer.

BAFTA winners tend to indicate who will scoop the gongs at the Oscars. The last six winners of the BAFTA for Best Film have gone on to win Best Picture at the Oscars.
