Elvis Presley's grandson has died at the age of 27, the manager of his mother Lisa Marie Presley has confirmed.

Benjamin Keough died in Calabasas, California, Roger Widynowski told CNN Sunday.

Ms Presley is "entirely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated", but she is "trying to stay strong for her 11 year old twins and her oldest daughter Riley," Mr Widynowski said in a statement.

"She adored that boy. He was the love of her life," he said.

Mr Widynowski gave no further details about his death.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Mr Presley appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Mr Presley's grandmother Priscilla, 75, married Elvis in 1967, but they divorced six years later.

Their only daughter Lisa Marie was born in 1968. Elvis died nine years later in 1977, aged 42.

Ms Presley had previously spoken of her son's similarity to her dad Elvis, calling their resemblance "uncanny".
