Beyoncé ‘set to perform’ at Grammys after pregnancy announcement

Beyoncé is expected to perform at the Grammy Awards following news that she is pregnant with twins.

The pop superstar is set take to the stage at the prestigious music awards ceremony next weekend, having been nominated for a number of awards.

While the singer is yet to officially confirm her appearance, her father Mathew Knowles revealed that she is currently in rehearsals for her performance.

Speaking on US show The Insider on Thursday, he said that he had spoken with his daughter the previous evening.

“She sounded a little tired because she’s been working on the Grammy performance,” he said.

Knowles also admitted that he had found out that his daughter was expecting twins at the same time as the rest of the world.

Saying that he was ‘shocked’ by the announcement, he added: “I think it was a strategy. I think there’s more to come.”

Beyoncé revealed the news on her Instagram account on Wednesday evening, posting a shot of her pregnant stomach.

She wrote: “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over.

"We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. - The Carters."

The picture, which shows Beyoncé clutching her baby bump, amassed 6.33 million likes in the first eight hours of being shared.
