Justin Bieber put his brushes with the law behind him as he enjoyed a day horse riding in Los Angeles.

The 20-year-old star was photographed riding a white horse in a group trek in the Hollywood Hills although he spent much of the ride on his phone, and listening to music.

Bieber shared a photo on Instagram of his arms holding the reins of his horse but mistakenly captioned the image so it read "pure bread stallion".

He later removed the post and replaced it with a corrected version.

Wearing a fedora and aviator sunglasses, the singer started his ride wearing a white long-sleeved top, but later whipped it off and, channelling Vladimir Putin, continued topless.

He has lately been subject to allegations of vandalism after his neighbour's home was egged in January causing more than $20,000 worth of damage. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department have recommended that the singer is prosecuted.

This followed several incidents last year including charges for resisting arrest, drag racing (although charges were dropped), allegedly punching a police officer and his private jet being searched for drugs on entry to the US.
