Kanye West and sister-in-law’s Kendall and Kylie Jenner booed at Billboard Music Awards 2015

Kanye West was booed as he wrapped up the Billboard Music Awards with a two song set on Sunday night.

The American rapper was introduced to the stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas by his sister-in-law’s Kendall and Kylie Jenner – who also received a negative reception.

The pair – who were both dressed in Balmain – were booed as they introduced West.

Kylie, 17, said: “It’s an honour to introduce this great artist, a friend, an inspiration, a brother and now a doctor."

Kendall concluded: "Ladies and gentleman please welcome Kanye West."

The rapper received a polarized welcome as he sang All Day from his upcoming seventh studio album SWISH before transitioning into his single, Black Skinhead.

The 37-year-old – who was last week honoured with a doctorate – was completely obscured by smoke and pyrotechnics at times as he was joined on stage by the song's featured guests, Allan Kingdom and Theophilus London.

It wasn't only members of the audience who were unimpressed by his set. Viewers at home were frustrated as ABC censored more than a minute of the performance.

West was one of many performers, including Ed Sheeran, Hozier, Britney and Iggy Azalea, Simple Minds, Kelly Clarkson, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown and Mariah Carey, who took to the stage at the prestigious ceremony.
