Brad Pitt facing shock claim of 'verbally abusive and physical' rant at children on private jet

Brad Pitt was today facing shock claims he was "verbally abusive and physical" with his children on board a private jet.

His actions while on board the plane with Angelina Jolie and their children were what sparked the couple's divorce, according to celebrity news outlet TMZ.

The publication claims Brad ranted and "got physical" with the children on a flight last Wednesday.

After leaving the plane, he carried on his rant and tried to leave on a fuel truck, it is claimed.

A complaint was reportedly made to the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services.

Brad and Angelina are said to have faced routine questioning by police in connection with the alleged incident.

TMZ cited a source close to Brad Pitt who vehemently denies any abuse of his children.

A source said: "He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children."

Jolie announced on Monday she has filed for divorce from Pitt, citing "irreconcilable differences". Her lawyer Robert Offer released a statement and revealed the decision to split had been made for the "health of the family".

The actress has asked for physical custody of their six children: Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, and Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and eight-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
