Bradley Cooper showcased his musical talent on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Monday night.

Wearing a brown afro wig with a visor, the actor told talk show host Fallon that he can play the air guitar.

The American Sniper actor – who turned 40 on Monday - was on the show to promote his Broadway play The Elephant Man, but took to the stage to entertain the audience with his air guitar rendition of Neil Young‘s solo in Down by the River.

Cooper said: “I play an air guitar. When I was a kid I had a lot of time on my hands. There’s one song by Neil Young. The guitar solo from Down By The River.

“The fact that some kid was memorizing it. It’s something to memorize how to play it, but to air guitar it. It’s so meaningless.”

At the start of the song he threw off his jacket and stood alongside the band before serenading several members of the audience as he strummed away on the imaginary instrument.
