Chloe Green has defended friend Kate Moss who was escorted from a flight earlier this month, claiming that she can be 'excitable' but in a 'playful' way.

The Topshop heiress, who has flown with the supermodel in the past, has blasted the airline for 'handling the situation badly' and over-reacting to what happened.

Speaking to The Mirror, she said: "I really think they handled it badly as an airline. I've travelled with Kate a few times and although she can be quite loud and excitable, it's always in a playful way."

The 23-year-old went on to suggest that the incident would have been a 'non-issue' if Moss had not been a star and she was targeted because of her celebrity status.

She said: "Had it been any other passenger it would've been a non-story. The whole issue was blown out of proportion and people need to remember that when you're a celebrity you're also a target. People will always try to embellish it."

Details of why the star was kicked off of her EasyJet flight following a holiday to Turkey have varied, with some eyewitnesses claiming it was due to a lack of food on board.

One passenger told The Sun: "She was sitting at the back with her friend and they were kicking off because the plane had run out of the sandwiches she wanted.

‘The flight attendants were taking a break at the back and eating their food when Kate shouted, “It's f**king all right for them to eat pasta when we're hungry”.

"She kept using bad language and one of the flight attendants seemed upset."
