Chrissy Teigen suffers ‘wardrobe malfunction of highest calibre’ as dress splits at CFDA Awards
American model Chrissy Teigen suffered a fashion mishap when her dress split at the annual Council of Fashion Designers of America awards.
Teigen, 29, looked sensational in a white custom made Rachel Zoe gown with a thigh high slit as she graced the red carpet on the arm of shoe designer Stuart Weitzman.
But later in the evening the supermodel's centre split ripped and rose by five inches.
Teigen – who is married to singer John Legend – laughed off the incident as she strategically placed her vintage Swarovski clutch to cover her modesty.

Taking to Instagram to document the mishap, Teigen posted: "Wardrobe malfunction of the highest caliber. Let's just say the slit took it upon itself to rip 5 inches higher. Thank you @stuartweitzman for letting me be your date and for always making my feet happy and legs sexy!!!#CFDAawards."

She also hit back at those claiming that her strapless gown was too revealing, posting: "(edit: do you guys know what a shadow is? Those are not nipples. I know what my nipples look like. You don't. Well maybe you do. But those aren't them.)"
Teigen joined guests including Victoria Beckham, January Jones and Karlie Kloss at the annual event which honours the achievements of designers.
Pharrell Williams was presented with the Fashion Icon award by West, sisters Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen picked up the top designer award for womenswear for their label The Row with Tom Ford honoured with the award for menswear.
