Dani Dyer has revealed how cruel comments from fellow students made her want cosmetic surgery as a youngster.

In her new book What Would Dani Do, the Love Island winner said that she was taunted over the shape of her nose, prompting her to consider rhinoplasty from the age of 12.

In a question and answer segment of her book, Dyer responded to a fan who asked: “Do you feel pressure to change yourself, fillers etc? You’re gorgeous as you are but we all compare ourselves?”

“I’m putting it out there: I’ve never liked my nose,” the reality star wrote. “It’s big and comes around the corner way before I do.

“Ever since that boy at school called me ‘Carrot Nose’ when I was 12, I’ve wanted to have a nose job but I couldn’t afford it.”

She went on to claim that she would no longer consider plastic surgery, as she doesn’t want to “let anyone down” or “betray” her fans.

“But I feel like I can’t get one done now I’ve been on Love Island!” she wrote. “I’m too scared to do something like that to myself because I don’t want to let anyone down, or make it seem acceptable to change the way you look.”

“I don’t want to upset the girls who follow and support me. I want girls to feel beautiful in their bodies and that they haven’t got to change the way they look to feel good.

“I feel like I would be betraying that if I changed something about myself.”

In another section of the book, Dyer elaborated on the name calling in a letter to her teenage self, writing: “I know you got called ‘carrot nose’ by Frankie at school, but you will learn to accept it as something that’s a unique part of you and makes you who you are.”

The 22-year-old has been promoting her latest venture on a book tour of the UK, days after fellow Love Island star Jack Fincham confirmed that he and Dyer had decided to split up.

“There is no easy way to say this and it isn’t going to be an easy time but me and Dani are not in a relationship any more,” he wrote in a statement posted on Instagram Stories.

“We will always care a lot for each other and have love for each other and I mean that from the bottom of my heart and I wish her nothing but happiness.”
