David Duchovny receives star on Hollywood Walk of Fame as new series of The X Files airs
David Duchovny has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The US actor, 55, celebrated the achievement on Monday just one day after the brand new series of The X files aired in the US.
Joined by the show’s creator Chris Carter, Duchovny posed for photos at the LA ceremony before addressing the crowd.
“I wouldn't have a career without Chris and his show The X Files. That really made everything happen for me as an actor,” he said.
“It’s indescribable; there are so many memories that come back. I came out to Los Angeles in 1988 trying to make enough money to live and work, that was all I was concerned about was can I pay the rent and act.”

While his co-star and friend Gillian Anderson couldn’t be there, she sent a humorous message for him to read out to the crowd.
“He was a nice man. A kind man. Quite smart. He liked avocado and pilates. Actor, writer, friend. He will always be my shining star. May his soul be forgiven and rest in peace,” it read.
The brand new series of the show, which will air in the UK on Channel 5 in February, has got mixed reviews.
Reuniting Mulder and Scully on screen for the first time since 2002, some critics have dubbed the comeback ‘underwhelming’.
