Lily James led the style pack at a festive party to launch Claridge’s Christmas tree.

The Downton Abbey star was joined by actor boyfriend Matt Smith as the iconic London hotel unveiled the Burberry-designed tree on Wednesday night.

Others stars who showed up to toast the tree included Millie Mackintosh, Alice Eve, David Gandy and Tracey Emin who all wanted a first look at Christopher Bailey’s design.

A famous fashion designer creates the hotel’s festive centrepiece every year and Bailey follows in the footstpes of John Galliano and Alber Elbaz for Lanvin.

“I hope that it brings guests a little sense of festive excitement,” said Bailey.

“It is so wonderful to see the tree in such an incredible setting as part of Claridge’s seasonal celebrations.”

Despite not being in the final series of the much-loved ITV show, James is expected to make an appearance in the Christmas special.

The 26-year-old plays Lady Rose, who went to live in America at the end of the last series after marrying Atticus Aldridge.
