London based singer Jessarae is dealing with a “mad break-up” in the music video for his latest single, No Warning.

The soloist, real name Jesse Robitaille, flew back to his home town of Los Angeles midway through touring with Little Mix to shoot the video which sees him walking through “lesser known parts” of the city in search of a girl.

He said the song, inspired by Peter Gabriel’s record So, helped him to cope with a recent split.

“At the time I was going through a mad break-up and was kind of stuck in this post relationship blues,” he said. “Lyrically No Warning was my way out of it.”

He said he filmed the video having barely stopped to sleep in between Little Mix gigs in the UK.

“I literally finished a gig in Manchester, hopped on a flight that next morning and spent a couple nights in LA, wrapped the video, didn’t get much sleep as I’m sure you can imagine and then got right back on another one of those 10-11 hour flights to Heathrow and played the London 02, literally straight from the airport,” he said.

“We just turned up to the venue and played. It was cool, I was a little bit dazed but the show was great. I couldn’t really tell you many specifics about it though, I was kind of in a dream like state for a while.”

The 22-year-old said touring with the girls helped to grow his fanbase – but that he’s still not at Justin Bieber levels of fame.

He said: “There were a couple times where me and the crew would go to get a pint next door or something and we’d bump into a family that had just been at the show.

“The kids would be like ‘Was that that guy on stage?’ and the parents would be like, ‘no they’re probably on some rad tour bus or something’. But no that was us...”

No Warning comes ahead of the release of his debut album, which he is hoping to release in 2018. Speaking about potential collaborations he said: “I don’t have any in the pipeline as of right now, but that’s something I’m really interested in doing.

“I love collaborations so if you’re reading this and you’re an artist or musician, hit me up and let’s make some magic in the studio.”
