Female Ghostbusters surprise children with hospital visit after they post 'Who you gonna call?' flyers

The new female cast of Ghostbusters paid a surprise visit to a children’s hospital.

Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones arrived at the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center, Boston in full costume complete with the proton packs after responding to staff who stuck flyers up in the windows reading: “Who you gonna call?”

The four piece took a break from saving Boston from paranormal activity as they walked the wards and spoke to patients.

The hospital posted pictures from the visit to their Facebook page, where they thanked the famous stars for the surprise.

“Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center patients got a huge surprise today when Ghostbusters stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones came to visit!,” they posted.

“Thank you for taking the time out of filming today to put a big smile on our patients faces! #WhoYouGonnaCall #Ghostbusters.”

McCarthy, Wiig, McKinnon and Jones - who are currently filming the revamped film in Boston - were joined on set by original Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd who will make a cameo appearance in the new film.

The film is slated for release on July 22, 2016.
